Authentic Dutch breads, pastries & stroopwafels — baked fresh every morning in Colorado Springs since 1999. Three generations of family recipes, brought to your table.
Boonzaaijer's Dutch Bakery was born from a deep love of authentic Dutch baking. When the Boonzaaijer family moved to Colorado Springs, they brought with them recipes passed down through three generations — rye breads with hearty crusts, crisp stroopwafels filled with warm caramel, and buttery speculaas spiced with cinnamon and clove.
Every morning before the sun rises over Pikes Peak, our bakers begin mixing, proofing and shaping doughs by hand. No shortcuts, no artificial preservatives — just time-honored methods and quality Colorado ingredients.
The stroopwafels here are absolutely incredible — I've had them in Amsterdam and these are just as good, if not better. The caramel is perfectly gooey. Worth every drive from Pueblo.
I'm Dutch and I have been here for 20 years, and finding Boonzaaijer's was like finding a piece of home. The rye bread, the boterkoek, the speculaas — all exactly right. This place is a treasure.
We ordered a custom platter for a company event and it was a huge hit. Everyone kept asking where the cookies were from. The appelflap was flaky perfection. We'll be back every week!
My grandmother was from the Netherlands and the gevulde koeken here brought me to tears. Exactly the same recipe she made. So grateful this bakery exists in Colorado Springs.
The bread here is hands-down the best in the entire Springs. The desem sourdough has a perfect tang and that crust — incredible. I buy two loaves every Saturday morning.
Every single thing I've tried here is phenomenal. The boterkoek melts in your mouth. The oliebollen at Christmas time are insane. Boonzaaijer's is an absolute gem of this city.
We're tucked away in Colorado Springs and we'd love to see you. Walk in, say hello, and leave with a bag full of warm Dutch goodness.
